What is Clause?

A sentence that makes as statement or assertion is called a Declaration or Assertive.
A sentence that asks a question is called Interrogative sentence.
A sentence that expresses command or an entreaty is called an Imperative sentence.
A sentence that expresses a strong feeling is called an exclamatory sentence. 

Parts of speech

There are eight part of speech 

Noun :- Noun is name of person place or thing. 

Akbar was a great king.
John plays game.

Pronoun:- Pronoun is used instead of noun.

The boys wrote a letter 
This boy is cleaver  

Adjective :- Adjective is word used to add something to the meaning of noun ; as 

He is tall boy.
There are fifty boys in the class.

Verb :-  Verb is word used to express an action or state; as 
The girl  play with doll.

Adverb :- Adverb is a word used to add something to the meaning of a verb , an adjective or another adverb ; as 
This place is very beautiful.
John run quickly.

Preposition :- Preposition is a word used with a noun or pronoun to show how the person or thing denoted by the noun or pronoun stand in relation to something else; as, 

There is camel in the garden.
He is fond of music 

Conjunction:- Conjunction  is a word used to join words or sentences ; as 

Elzibt and John are cousins.
I run fast but missed the train. 

Interjection :- Interjection is a word which expresses some sudden feeling; as 

Hurrah ! we won the match .
Alas ! she is dead.

Present Indefinite tense

A verb which denotes that action takes place in present time. It is called present indefinite tense. 

For example :-


He plays a game.


She washes the clothes etc.

Past Indefinite tense

The verb which shows some action was performed in past time. It is said to be past Indefinite tense.

Future Indefinite tense

A verb that describe some action or event will be performed in coming time namely in future. It is called future Indefinite Tense.

Present potential tense

A verb which shows capability in performing some particular action or work in present time, is called Present potential Tense.

You can embrace me.

Or 

You are able to embrace me.


He can buy a car.

He is able to buy a car

Past potential Tense

A verb which shows capability of subject to perform some particular action is Past potential tense.

For example:-

He could drink a water.

Or

He was able to drink a cold water .


They could hide a book.

Or

They were able to hide a book.

Future potential tense

A verb which shows the capability of subject in performing some particular action / work in coming time. It is called Future Potential Tense.


For Example:-



I shall be able to defeat them.


They will sometimes able to come.

Present Perfect potential tense

This tense shows the subject of has been able to do some action in present time or not.

For example:-

He has  been able to say them.

They have not been able to keep promise

Past Perfect Potential


The verb which tells that subject was able to perform an  action completed or not in past time, it is called Past perfect  Potential tense.

For example:-



He had not been able to engage with her.

I had been able to call them.

Present continuous or Progressive tense

A verb which denotes that some action is going on in present by the time of speaking and the action or event is not finished/ over yet.  It is call present Continuous Tense.




For example;-

You are leading high life.
He is giving a statement.












Past Continuous tense

A verb which expresses that some action was going on in the past by the time of speaking and the action was not over , it is called past continuous tense.


For example.


I was sewing the clothes.


It was raining out side.

Future Continuous

A verb which denotes that some action will able be going on in future time and the action or event will not be over in coming time, it is called future Continuous Tense.

Present Perfect Tense

This tense denotes the action which just has been completed in present time and that action or event had been beginning in past but it has been over in present few moments ago.

Past Perfect tense

This tense expresses the action which has been started in past by subject and it was completed either in past also or it shows the action that began before the time of speaking in past and stopped at that time or just be fore it.

Future Perfect Tense

Present passive tense

A verb which shows that the subject possesses over something in present time. It is called Present Possessive tense.

Past Passive Tense
